Hey,
My name is Shelvin Gumbs and I am your Hall Chair for 2012-2013.

I am currently a first year at Loughborough studying Computer Science with a Foundation Year, on a four year course but will be a second year as of freshers 2012! During my time at Loughborough I have enjoyed getting involved with Loughborough Students Media, presenting the Jelvin Show on Loughborough Campus Radio (LCR), one of LSU Media's best shows and was a Media Rep within the first 2 months of being at Bakewell. The Hall Chair is the person is responsible for the overall management of the hall committee. Being a hall chair requires someone who has an interest in all aspects of the committee and someone that I feel will get the best out of the hall and lead the hall in any situation, whether it be in the sing off with an outrageous costume on or leading a team of supporters in the girls IMS netball. I have become involved in every part of the hall with helping out with charity raising (RAG), helping the community and offering my free time to those that better need it (ACTION) or putting balls in to the onion bag with IMS football and hockey. I am thrilled to have this title as a 'fresher' and I believe I can and will show what someone with young university experience can bring to the table. I am proud to be the beacon of this hall for the following year and thrive to take it higher than previous years and build on Bakewell's reputation in it's early years as a hall on campus. There is no other better place on campus for you to live and get involved heavily with university life. My committee and myself will help you make your time at Loughborough to be the best and exceed all your expectations.

About Me: Hi!
My name is Sheree and I am one of your social secs! I have absolutely loved my time at Loughborough so far this year and the best part by far has been being a resident of Bakewell! You'll probably find out that I'm quite a loud person and am always embarrassing myself in one way or another. I love getting involved with all things Bakewell, from IMS events to helping with FREEC events, and this has definitely been one of the reasons I've had such a good time. Getting involved is one of the best things you can do and is such a great way to meet so many new people and have loads of fun!

My Name is Doug and I am one of your Action Reps.
I came to Bakewell for it's awesome accommodation, but since I've been here I've felt like I've become part of a family. My favourite moment so far has to be freshers, and my advice to anyone coming along is get involved as much as you can! My biggest problem is I do have some major issues when it comes to cooking! So far in my first term I've managed to turn an omelet into cheesy and burnt scrambled egg and also failed to cook pancakes on two separate occasions. But I've managed to meet loads of new people just through turning up to all sort of events, Action, Rag, FREEC and IMS. And I cant wait for my next three semesters here!

Something about my role: Action is all about getting involved and helping out others by giving up a bit of time. I've found from the start of the year it's a great way to meet new people, not only from our hall but others too! And although it seems hard to get out of bed for some of the earlier starts, Once you're involved the events can be fun with great banter.

Im Ali and I am one of your Action Reps along with Doug Wakefield.
Im at Bakewell because the accommodation is the best on campus but since the first night of freshers I have loved Bobby B and wanted to get involved with the hall ever since and striving to make it the best hall on campus as we all know we are!!! I love this place, and my advice to a fresher is to get involved in as much as you possibly can and dont say no to an opportunity! About myself some more, I was hopeless at cooking when I first come here not knowing how to cook pasta but im getting better. I also will do a lot of stupid things in the moment. And finally, the people I have met here are some of the best people I have ever met and Ive had great and at points strange beyond reasoning.

Something about my role:Well I am an Action Rep which is about getting people involved in volunteering in all sorts of activities such as chopping down trees and painting. Its a great way to meet people and have a good time doing something different to your everyday life so GIVE IT A GO! We want Bakewell to get to number 1 and we need of all you to help.

My Name is Luke and I am one of your RAG Reps.
Being a Yorkshireman I know what loyalty is all about, you'll struggle to find anyone who buzzes off Bobby B more than me. To display this loyalty on a regular basis you'll often see or hear me in the middle of Elvynn quad at some ungodly hour in the morning, letting them know just how s**t they are! And if I'm not doing that, then I'll either be cooking pasta, playing on FIFA, or sniffing the pure passion (sweat and face paint) on my freshers tee!

Something about my role: Arguably the best role on committee, travelling here there and everywhere on raids, getting everyone to do stupid stuff (like getting punched in the face on room 1 stage, getting a back sack and crack wax, or just getting absolutely munted on Frosty Jacks) all in the name of charity! So you can always feel good about what you're doing, even if it's really pretty grim.
